Bargarh is an agriculturally prosperous district in western Odisha, irrigated by the Hirakud dam. It is famous for the Sambalpuri Bastralaya, a cooperative society that promotes the world-renowned Sambalpuri handloom. The district transforms into the mythological city of Mathura during the annual Dhanu Yatra.
