The Heritage Diary
Dhenkanal was a princely state ruled by the Singh Deo dynasty. It played a pivotal role in the freedom movement, notably the incident involving Baji Rout, the youngest martyr of India's freedom struggle. The Mahima Dharma, a monotheistic sect, originated and is headquartered here at Joranda.
