Kendujhar (Keonjhar) is a district of hills, waterfalls, and minerals. It sits on the mineral-rich Chota Nagpur plateau. It has one of the highest tribal populations in the state, including the Juang and Bhuyan tribes.

The Heritage Diary

Keonjhar was a princely state ruled by the Bhanja dynasty. It was the site of the famous Bhuyan Mell (rebellion) led by Dharanidhar Naik against the oppressive practices of the king and British.
