  • ମୋର ଗୋଟିଏ ପୁଅ ଓ ଗୋଟିଏ ଝିଅ ଅଛନ୍ତି।

    mora gotie pua o gotie jhia achhanti.

    I have a son and a daughter.

  • ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଘରେ କିଏ କିଏ ଅଛନ୍ତି?

  • ମୁଁ ବିବାହିତ।

    mun bibahita.

    I am married.

  • ମୋ ଝିଅ ଘରେ ଅଛି।

    mo jhia ghare achhi.

    My daughter is at home.

Tip

Saying 'I have'

Odia has no verb 'to have'. You say 'of me … is/are': ମୋର ଦୁଇ ଭାଇ ଅଛନ୍ତି = I have two brothers. Use ଅଛନ୍ତି for people you respect or several people, ଅଛି for one child or thing. For 'I don't have', use ନାହିଁ: ମୋର ଭାଇ ନାହିଁ.
