Find the tithi, nakshatra and moon sign of a birth, and the English dates of the next ten tithi birthdays.
What is a janma tithi?
In Odisha many families celebrate a birthday on the tithi (lunar day) of birth rather than the English date — the same tithi in the same lunar month each year. Because the lunar year is about 11 days shorter than the solar year, its English date moves every year.

Questions
How is the tithi birthday worked out?
The birth tithi is the lunar day (Sun–Moon angle in 12° steps) at the time of birth, or at sunrise if no time is given. Each year the birthday falls on the day when the same tithi is current at sunrise, in the same lunar month. If the tithi lasts over two sunrises the first day is taken; if it begins and ends between two sunrises (kshaya), the day on which it falls is shown.
What if someone was born in an adhika (extra) month?
About every two and a half years the lunar calendar adds an extra month. A person born in one usually keeps the birthday in the regular month of the same name, which is what this tool shows.
Why might my family panjika give a different day?
Panjikas differ in method (older surya siddhanta or modern drik calculations) and in the place used for sunrise. This tool uses drik positions with the Lahiri ayanamsa and sunrise at Bhubaneswar, so a tithi that changes near sunrise can land a day apart.
