About Asima Panda

Asima Panda (also spelled Aseema Panda) is an Indian playback singer working in Odia cinema and live stage music. Our film database credits her in close to 100 Odia films since the early 2010s. She has twice won the Odisha State Film Award for best female singer: at the 29th awards, for the title song of Mu Khanti Odia Jhia, and for 2020, for "Bahudina Pare" from Romeo Raja.

Music career

Panda has sung extensively for Odia films. Our database lists her in about 96 films, from Hari Om Hari (2013), Ganja Ladhei (2014) and One Way Traffic (2014) to recent releases such as Ei Bodhe Prema (2025), Ladhei (2025), Kabita Banita Lata 3 (2026) and Shikar (2026).

Panda has won the Odisha State Film Award for best female playback singer twice. At the 29th State Film Awards, announced in February 2019, she won for the title song of Mu Khanti Odia Jhia. When the state's film awards for 2020 to 2022 were announced in November 2024, she was named best female singer for 2020 for "Bahudina Pare" from Romeo Raja. In early 2021 she was one of more than 15 Ollywood singers who contributed to a song by composer Prem Anand about Odisha's culture and identity. She recorded her part separately rather than joining the open-air recording session in Bhubaneswar. She also performs at public festivals, including the Bali Yatra fair in Cuttack.
